    The experience and reputation that STEMCO has rightfully earned stretches back to its establishment on July 4, 1991. During its years of operation in Nigeria, STEMCO has successfully completed various projects. Moreover, its work in civil and construction projects has continued to expand. STEMCO has developed the experience and technology to be able to mobilize technical staff and management personnel and labour within a short period of time. With that, it is able to organize them into fully integrated project teams and to deploy them to execute a variety of small or large projects.

    Quality Assurance

    The primary objectives of the management at STEMCO are to provide services in a manner which conforms to the contractual and regulatory requirements. In order to achieve this objective, it is the policy of STEMCO to establish and maintain an efficient Quality Assurance program planned and developed in conjunction with all management functions.

    STEMCO operates a planning and management system based on Timeline and Microsoft Project software. The systems encompass the activities of Planning, Engineering, Document Control, and Material Control. These total management packages allow the effective scheduling of all activities in a “real time” environment giving the level of control to allow the effective management of multiple contracts through one system.

    STEMCO has a pool of transitional human, material and technological resources of which it is capable of assuming total project responsibility and of providing a comprehensive project delivery program which includes design, engineering, construction management, procurement, materials management, logistics and site support services.

    The company is committed to the development of the individual in order to maximize the benefit of employment. As such, STEMCO actively seeks to develop itself as a corporation to cater to its customer with the highest standards of labour relation and policies.

    Health & Safety

    It is the company’s policy to maintain a safe and healthy working environment for all its employees. The Managing Director is ultimately responsible for the implementation of documented company health and safety policy. However through a system of documented working instructions, the responsibility for the physical enforcement of the safety policy will be delegated to other senior managers and supervisors for their particular areas.

    Staffing Strategy

    The company’s staffing strategy is based on providing any new project with an experienced and technically competent management team consisting of personnel who have worked with the group for some years. Therefore senior management, engineering and administrative staff will be drawn from the company’s existing workforce. The same strategy applies to superintendents and supervisors.

    Labour will be drawn from either STEMCO’s current project organization or will be recruited after careful screening from local areas to assist in promotion and developments of these areas.
